Glendora Unified School District Goals and Strategic Initiatives:

Over the course of the next several weeks, we will be highlighting our progress toward the District/LCAP Goals and recognizing all of the hard work of our incredible GUSD staff and students toward accomplishing them. Please keep your eyes open for updates from Penelope DeLeon, Superintendent, on Wednesdays on social media. Click HERE to review the District/LCAP goals.

Mandatory Mask Requirement for School Settings Ended Today:

Today ended the timeline set by the Governor for the indoor mask requirement for school settings. Therefore, the first day of in-class instruction with voluntary masking will be Monday, March 14. There will be no distinction between vaccinated and unvaccinated students regarding the state masking policy. The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has aligned to the timeline given to the state referenced above. GUSD will continue to monitor students for symptoms and follow group contact tracing and quarantining protocols to ensure the safety of all of our students and staff. Please click HERE to view the entire District message.

Volunteers:

Volunteers will be allowed on campus on Monday, March 21. Parents/guardians who are interested in volunteering are encouraged to communicate with their child’s teacher prior to completing the volunteer process. Then, volunteers must obtain and complete an application from the weekly update, school website, or school office, have a valid TB test, and medical clearance. Please click HERE to view the volunteer guidelines. Volunteers will be notified once the application process has been completed. Click HERE to view the volunteer form.

Families’ Access to School Campuses:

GUSD and Penelope DeLeon, Superintendent, are thrilled to welcome more families back to our campuses, joining our students and staff in the school community. With that in mind, please note that all visitors to campus must check in at the office. Additionally, the school offices and nearby public areas in front of schools will be open once again for socializing among adults. We do ask, though, that adults refrain from gathering on the school campuses when students and staff are present without an advance appointment.

Raptor Visitor System:

GUSD continuously values community engagement and welcomes our students’ families back to our campuses. We also have a tireless commitment to student and staff safety. Effective Monday, March 21, all adult visitors to GUSD campuses will be required to present a valid state-issued ID prior to entering campus. Our Raptor Visitor System will complete a background check and provide each visitor with a temporary guest ID badge, including a photo ID to wear while on campus.
